4 days Sam-Penj--Khuj-Tashkent

  
ITINERARY:   Samarkand – Jartepo – Penjikent -Istaravshan - Khujand- Oybek – Tashkent

Duration: 3 nights/4 days.

Day 10: Wednesday, Samarkand-Penjikent  

In the morning trip to Penjikent located on Tajikistan territory (1 hour drive from Samarkand). Customs procedures of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan sides. Arrival to Penjikent and continue driving to the ruins of ancient Panjikent located within 5 minutes drive of modern Penjikent. Penjikent a major Sogdian city is dating back to 5th century and was destroyed with Arab conquerors in 8th century. Presently the ruins are excavated and you can see different teams of archeologists working on sites. Trip to the beautiful  banks of mountain lakes, with crystal-turbulent water, with  fresh aroma of mountain flowers, picturesque landscape. Overnight in Penjikent. 

Day 11: Thursday, Penjikent – Khudjand

Early breakfast. Drive through Shakhristan pass to Khujand Via Shakhristan pass (H-3378ms)Lunch en route Mugh-Teppa and medresse mosque KUK-GUMBAZ and after drive to Khujand, During accommodation in hotel and dinner and rest.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 12: Friday, Khudjand

Full day City excursion: Archeological museum, Urda (city fortress of XII century from time of Alexander the Great), Mosque-medresse of Sheykh Muslihiddin of XVI century), Rukhak observing tower from XII century. Visit of “Tajic Sea” Kayraccum HPS (Hydro Power Station) the symbol of People’s Friendship built in 1968. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 13: Saturday, Khudjand - Tashkent

After the breakfast transfer to Tashkent, through “Oibek” cross border point. Transfer to the hotel in Tashkent. Free time.
